Extended Warranties, or "Service Contracts", are a very lucrative business. But does this help or hurt you, the consumer? Find out what bull is used the marketing of these programs and arm yourself with some good info before your next encounter with a blue-shirted checkout kid.
Excellent stuff. But I feel like such a fool. I bought an extended warranty 2 months ago on a DVD/HDD recorder and I haven't even got close to using it - and I probably never will.
I'm going to skip extended warranties in the future, unless the product is fairly mechanical and/or Australian made.
